Things to know:
- It is typically developed by 5-7.5 years old
- There are two kinds of /th/ sounds, voiceless (no vibration at the vocal chords) and voiced (vibration on)
- The most common error people make is to substitute, or replace, the /th/with an /f/ or a /v/
- You need your tongue working for both /th/ sounds
- Start by sticking your tongue out of your mouth a little
- Blow air over your tongue, keeping your mouth semi-closed
- Practice in front of a mirror, and make sure you are using your tongue for the TH sound!
- If you're using the voiceless /th/ you do not need your voice on
- If you are using the voiced /th/ you need your voice on
